PDO Mono Threads are biodegradable sutures that are placed under the skin to promote the creation of new collagen. The sutures (threads) will be absorbed by your body over time, leaving your skin tightened and rejuvenated.

The threads are inserted into the sub dermal layer of your skin, in a mesh-like pattern. This will induce collagen production which gradually creates tightened skin and an overall lifted look. Collagen is the protein that gives your skin its structure and elasticity and it is the loss of collagen that is one of the main causes of ageing skin.

If you have sagging, ageing or damaged skin, PDO Threads offer results driven rejuvenation and are often used in conjunction with other cosmetic injectable treatments for maximum effect.

PDO Threads can treat most parts of your face and neck that are experiencing signs of ageing, including –

  • Necks
  • Crows Feet
  • Nasolabial Folds
  • Accordion Lines
  • Marionettes
  • Décolletage
  • Glabella Lines

Most clients notice an improvement 1-4 weeks after the treatment which lasts for approximately 6 -12 months.

The area will be rejuvenated, looking (and feeling) firmer and younger.

After a topical anaesthetic has been applied, the threads are inserted using a micro-needle or a cannula, in a weave pattern, to achieve maximum firming effects.

PDO Threads are smooth, without barbs and are minimally invasive. A topical anaesthetic is applied prior to the treatment to minimise discomfort and the micro-needle is narrower than those used for anti-wrinkle injections and fillers, making it less invasive.

You may experience some tenderness and bruising in the treated area for a few days after the procedure.

PDO Threads themselves have been used in surgeries since the 1980s. Only PDO Threads approved by the TGA and sourced from reputable and ethical suppliers are used in our clinic, with all of our treatments carried out by our specially trained and AHPRA registered team.
